The
WRAL NewsChannel was the first 24-hour local news channel in North Carolina. For Time Warner digital cable subscribers, the NewsChannel is available on channel 256. It can also be received on over-the-air receivers on digital cable channel 5.2.
Launched in 2001, the WRAL NewsChannel gives viewers who miss WRAL newscasts, documentaries or current affairs programs, such as N.C. Spin and Headline Saturday, the opportunity to see replays at more convenient times.
The NewsChannel also produces unique programming, including local election specials, trial coverage and
Instant Replay, a 30-minute weekly look back the biggest sports events of the past week. The NewsChannel also offers replays of the CBS Evening News and a variety of home and lifestyle programs, including P. Allen Smith Gardens, Bloomin In the Garden and Travel In Style.
Viewers also get forecasts every 30 minutes from the WRAL WeatherCenter.
